Slice of Life Challenge #31

This will be the last slice of life challenge blog post that I will do this month. Early this morning my uncle Willie surprised us by coming to our house. He flew in from Las Vegas with his new fiancé. After hanging out at our house for a while we decided to go out and eat. We went to get Puerto Rican food and we ate it at my dad’s job in the Sears tower. After we were done eating my dad gave us the tour of the place. I had a great time and I hope we do it again another time.

Slice of Life Challenge #30

On Fridays my dad, brother, and I stay up till about 11:30 pm. Today we had a dancing contest when a song came on and it was our turn that person whould dance to it. We each had two turns than I had to write this. After I’m done we might go to bed or continue playing. I hope we go to bed though because I’m tired. Next time I hope I’m a little bit more energetic.

Slice of Life Challenge #29

I was ready for the last hour of school before I went on spring break. But I walk into an empty room with 5 pairs of eyes staring at me. Only 6 people came to vex robotics, 3 leaders Ms. Colson,  Erica, and Ray but the students were Emily, David, and I. It was an awkward moment then my teacher Ms. Colson told us to sing in. After we went up stairs but we only stayed up stairs for 30 minuets and then we left. Next time I hope more people come.

Slice of Life Challenge #28

I was surprised to see my dad without the car picking me up from Pokémon club today. He said that we were going to walk home together because he didn’t have the car. That was one of my favorite 20 minute walks I have ever done. It was just my dad and I, me and my dad not my mom or my brother just me and my dad. While we were walking we were talking about what happened at club today. I wish my dad will pick me up like that every day.

Slice of Life Challenge #27

Today is the 4th to last day of the month and slice of life challenge blog post and blogging is getting harder and harder by every post. Spring break is so close and over sprig break my mom, dad, brother and I are taking my cousins with us to the Wisconsin Dells. We leave Sunday April 1st and come back April 4th. I go back to school April 9th so we will have 5 days of chill day time. March 31st will be the last blog for my slice of lives. But today is still r and 5 days away from good stuff happening.

Slice of Life Challenge #26

Sunday March 25 I had church but after church my dad, mom, brother, and I when to their friend Liliy’s house. Lilly had a basketball, a basketball rim, and her son and his name was Tony. First we ate food there was chicken, Mac and cheese, fries, a salad and sparkling grape juice. That was one of the best lunches I have ever had in my life, even though it was all store bought. Then it was basketball time! My dad, brother, Tony and I all played at different times but it was fun while it lasted and I really hope we will do that again soon.

Slice of Life Challenge #25

On Friday my dad and I practiced baseball with Adrian (my little brother) and his friend and his dad at baseball alley for about two hours. While we were there we practiced hitting and fielding. We started practicing hitting as soon as we got there. Since it wasn’t my practice I was all time pitcher for Adrian and his friend. I had never pitched before so it was interesting but eventually I was able to pitch strikes and they were able to hit them. The next time we practice my goal is to pitch more strikes than last time.

Slice of Life Challenge #24

 Yesterday, math was one of the best classes I have had all year. I had reached 40 (41) stickers and that ment I would attend an incentive day during math on Friday March 22. I just had my ELA  incentive Monday March 19 which made the week great already. Then I have Tuesday off and an incentive instead of math on Friday and Friday was the end of PARCC testing. Best week ever! And for the incentive for math was a ice cream party with all the sixth grade students (teams A and B) that earned it. I hope that happens again soon.

Slice of Life Challenge #23

Today is Friday and THE END OF PARCC TESTING!!! YAY, finally a normal schedule and a normal day. Yesterday the last math test. I took three ELA tests and one math test last week. This week I took the last two math tests and that was it, but it was a long two weeks. The last tests of the year is map testing, and I’m ready for it.

Slice of Life Challenge #22

I shoot and shoot and shoot but I can’t get the basketball into the hoop. I keep on trying and trying and trying and, oh wait for it no I missed again. But yesterday March 21 I did it I scored a three pointer in my back yard. In fact I made two in a row, I told my dad for very shot I made he had to try to make one. Out of the 5 shot I made he only made 2 and he try to make 5 free throws, embarrassing. I will continue to try my best to make more baskets for basketball.

Slice of Life Challenge #21

It was an intense battle at Pokémon club today. But I had no chance up against Diego D he has the best deck ever and that’s why I lost. Each game a player has three prize cards you get one when you KO a Pokémon from the defending team. He took all six and I took none at all. That was how good his deck was. Next time though I’m shure I will take some pride cards the next time I battle him.

Slice of Life Challenge #20

It was about 1:30pm and my mom, dad brother and I were in Texas. Today was the day we were going to go back home but our flight was at 5:30pm, so we had some time. To end a great vacation we decided to go zip lining. We had to be at the airport 2 hours before our flight so we had 2 hours to do what ever with accept we still had to drive to the car rental and walk place to the air port so that left us with about 1 hour. When we arrived we saw that there were multiple things to do besides the zip lining. But we spent all of our time on zipping. My dad when first, then me, then my mom, then it was supposed to be my brother’s turn but he has a major fear of heights and so did my dad but, that’s why he went first. So instead of him going on the zip line he walked down the stairs and we started the drive to the air port. Next time we go I hope Adrian will zip, and plus it was his idea to go zipping in the first place.

Slice of Life Challenge #19

Yesterday I went to church and my parents were the teachers. Then we went got Colvers for lunch and headed home. My mom had an event to go to, after we ate she left and my dad, Adrian and I were at home alone. So we decided go to Toys Are Us before it closed and plus I had a gift card for it any way. We had to walk there and back because my mom took the car. After we got back we built our LEGOs and binge watched some of the Pokémon Sun and Moon series until 8:00.

Slice of Life Challenge #18

We are almost done with the painting of some rooms in our house. We went to a bunch of stores to shop for a new entertainment center. Walmart was one of those stores and while we were there my brother Adrian and I were being silly. On certain shelves that were empty I would crawl in and pretend to be that missing item. One of the shelves that I crawled into had a price tag that was over $100. I said to them, “One left in stock.” My parents looked at me and the price tag and said, “Nah. That item is too expensive and it looks used.” I responded, “But this item knows science and math.” They were laughing but still kept walking  So sad they didn’t want to buy me.

Slice of Life Challenge #17

 It was Johnny’s little brother David and I in a Pokémon battle against Johnny and Adrian. We played three games two tag teams (a battle were it’s two vs two) and one free for all (a four way battle). First we played a tag team and David and I crushed the other team. They didn’t even have a chance, we also won the second tag team battle as well. But the free for all was hard. It was all of us against Johnny then, Adrian won 1st then, David won 2nd, I won 3rd, and Johnny came in last. That was one of the most intense battles I have ever battled in and I’m looking forward to the next game like that one.

Slice of Life Challenge #16

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, how long did it take you to count to twelve. Well that’s the time it took me to get through questions 1-10. Pretty fast right, 11-22 not so much. Ya problems 11, 12 and 13 were half easy I still had to turn my brain on. Then moving forward it was plane fun. Dividing, working with fractions and decimals, and probability, as well as other stuff but, those were existing. Today is Friday, March 16th and the 4th PARCC tests and the 1st math PARCC test. I’m and not looking forward to the last two tests on Wednesday and Thursday.

Slice of Life Challenge #15

Last sentence already, yay. Now all I have to do is  write a story about what could happen the next day. Today is Thursday, March 15, 2018 and the the 3rd day of PARCC testing. Every day PARCC gets closer and closer and closer to being done and Friday March 23rd, a week from tomorrow PARCC will be over! Sentence 28, sentence 29, sentence 30, sentence 31, and sentence 32. Finally done that’s all I thought of writing. That is all of the ELA PARCC tests, all that’s left is the three math PARCC tests.

What, how am I still on question 3. Today is the second PARCC test. I’m sitting in my chair thinking how am I still on question 3. I wish this was over already. Tomorrow, Friday Wednesday, and Thursday. I will still have PARCC. I wish PARCC was never created.

Slice of Life Challenge #13

Today in science we did the coolest thing. We sucked water into a beaker by using a candle. First we put the smallest sized candle in the sender of a paper plate. Then we filled the paper plate with water. We lit the candle with a lighter and immediately put a beaker over it. Then we watched as the water filled the beaker. I’m going to try to do that at home one day.

Slice of Life Challenge #12

“Ha” I shouted I just blocked a goal from the other team’s star player Antonio. I tossed the ball to my teammate but Antonio interfered and scored. It was an intense soccer game. It started out as 3 vs 3, then 2 vs 3, then 2 vs 2. 2 vs 2 was the most difficult game I have ever played. It seemed like it was 1 vs 2 because my teammate was not even paying attention. I had to block, I had to steal, I had to score all by myself. The game ended as 4-4 so I said that’s it I am exhausted. And it was time for me to start getting ready for bed.

Slice of Life Challenge #11

I was so close to beating him. I only needed to last two more turns and would win the Pokémon battle against Johnny O. 1 KO, 2 KO, was the game over noooooo he put another basic card on he bench before I did the second KO. But wait he just passed and there are no basics on his bench and “ Royal Blades” for game. Yay I beat Johnny that was an intense game good job. That was one more victory for me and one less for Johnny.

Slice of Life Challenge #10

When we got there this creepy music was playing. It was Friday, March 9th and my friends and I were at the Berwyn Public Library for the Nerf event. It started at 6pm and ended at 8pm with 18 people there. The event was called Humans vs Zombies and that’s exactly what the first three rounds were. Humans vs Zombies was a game where there are four zombies and the rest are humans. The human’s goal is to shoot the zombies and don’t get tagged by the zombies. If they get tagged they become a zombie and leave their stuff at the spawning point. The zombie’s goal is to tag as many people as possible without getting shot. If they get shot they go back to the spawning point and try again. I had a great time and I hope that the Berwyn Public Library does this event some time again soon.

It’s almost midnight and I still have 7 IXLs left. I’m really tired and half asleep already. 98, 99 100! Finally done with M.8 and M.9. All that’s left is P.6, R.3, R.4, R.5, and U.3.  It’s 1 in the morning and all I have left is U.3. And I just fineshed U.3 at 10:23am March 9th.

Slice of Life Challenge #8

I thought I was going to have a heart attack. When I saw there was only one pair of Nerf goggles left in the store. My friend was disappointed and I didn’t know what to do. My friend asked one of the workers at Target if they had any more he said no but other stores did. I can get bored really fast so instead waiting I went to the LEGO and sports section. Then I started just dribbling a basketball.

Slice of Life Challenge #7

Faster, faster, faster. This is the fastest I have ever roller skated. My parents just got my brother and I new roller skates. They are blue and black and have a strap that goes over the shoe. Just outside of Janua Park in a basketball/soccer/hockey court my brother and dad were playing tag while I was skating. Earlier it rained so it made everything slippery. So when I tried to stop I slipped and fell on the floor. Next time I go to that park I will go when it doesn’t rain.

Slice of Life Challenge #6

I just couldn’t figure it out. When I told Johnny O that I would make a deck of Pokémon cards to totally destroy his I didn’t think it would be this hard. So there I was in my house just sitting on the floor thinking, thinking really hard and trying to make a deck list. Deck list after deck list after deck list I finally made half of a deck list that would beat Johnny O. Even today that deck is still missing a good amount of cards. This deck will be at least $200 and there will be 3 Tapu Lele GX.

Slice of Life Challenge #5

My family’s is all about doing diy house projects. Our current diy project is to paint several rooms. And today I helped my mom and dad paint primer on the walls of the hallway. Every couple of minutes my arms got tired but I would keep going. After a while I just couldn’t go on, I was just too tired so I let my dad finsh it for me. I will continue to help my parents paint and primer the dining room, living room, mud room, and hallway.

Slice of Life Challenge #4

I saw the movie Spare Parts over the weekend and it was probably the best movie I have ever seen. This movie took place in Arizona and was about four high school students that were elillegal participating in an underwater robotics competition. All four students had struggles and were worried about being deported by ICE.  Despite all their troubles they were able to win the underwater robotics competition against colleges including MIT, Duke, and Virginia Tech. My favorite part was when the judges asked how much money they spent and the colleges said they spent thousands of dollars and the high schoolers only spent $800. This movie encourages me to know that through hard work and dedication I can reach my goals.

Slice of Life Challenge #3

A block away I started running. I saw everyone having fun and I couldn’t wait to be there too. Once I was in view everyone started to scream because I was back. It had been so long since I had been at Piper elementary school’s park and seen all my old friends that still go there. We had a great time playing catch and soccer when a fellow Heritage student arrived. I was tired walking home and I wished that every A-day Friday ended like that.

Slice of Life Challenge #2

I was just sitting on the couch waiting and waiting and then the doorbell senceed motion. But it was just a car then I hear footsteps getting louder but it was my neighbor’s grandson stomping on the sidewalk to his house. Then I hear weels I look out the window and it’s just someone skateboarding. I’m ready to give up and I totally ignored the doorbell senceed motion then the doorbell rings and trip and fall. I get up and open the door and the mailman gives me the mail and I open everything and I find a bill, bill, sales paper, then I see a whole bunch of Pokémon cards. I was shuffling through everything then I saw it I was so happy my Tapu Lele GX card came in. One of the most expensive Pokémon cards ever was in my hands, it costs $60 each.

Slice of Life Challenge #1

It was going to be the funniest thing ever. My parents were out shopping and my grandma was watching us. Then  my little brother Adrian. He took a red marker and colored a circle on his forehead and a paper towel. It looked like he was actually bleeding but he wasn’t. I found that out the hard way. He came into my room crying and I said “what’s wrong, are you ok, what am I going to do, I am going to go play video games. We both stated laughing then I told Adrian that he should do that to our parents but he said no.
